"International Board of Trustees at Samara State University
The changing economic and political environment requires universities to be more open, flexible, mobile and ready for communication. The university cannot exist as a closed system in an open democratic society with broadening inner administrative and outer contacts. So, the university needs to have a special structure to deal with community and control its development.
Social Foundation Free Resources jointly with Samara State University initiated the project International Board of Trustees
The International Board of Trustees at SSU is a key to the creation of a modern open university. It will give a basis for sustainable development and make the university to be in the vanguard of all political, economical and democratic changes in the country. It is not only SSU who will benefit also all the universities with whom we are going to cooperate (of the USA, Germany, Japan, China, Great Britain, etc).
Project goals:
create a new system of open knowledge resources;
reverse potentially very damaging trend of deterioration of Russian university system;
participate in creation of a new educational structure;
provide a new level of open knowledge;
develop civil society worldwide.
Functions of SFFR:
develop the IBT vision, mission and strategy.
recruit IBT members,
provide organizational support to IBT events in Samara and USA.
IBT mission:
Working with Samara State University to achieve the university mission by:
Creating a future state model.
Defining and managing the change processes
Developing strategic external resources.
Vision:
Guide and support the University in identifying and achieving the desired changes that will make Samara State University a premier, international university that is accountable, transparent, and ethically principled.
Participation in IBT will give you the opportunities:
contribute to improvement of educational system worldwide;
gain access and influence regional policy and economy establishments in Russia;
build working relationships with Russian businessmen;
gain unique insight into Russian market for future business and investments;
